Subcommittees

Technical Standards: Maintains awareness and involvement in the development of codes and standards related to the construction of low embodied carbon infrastructure. This includes EPDs, whole project Life Cycle Assessment standards, and material-specific codes such as ACI 323 Low Carbon Concrete Code.

Strategic Partnerships: Cultivates relationships that strengthen the initiative's impact and long-term sustainability. The committee identifies funding opportunities, develops partnership resources, and engages organizations that share the initiative's vision.

Signatory Program: Supports organizations participating in the initiative's commitment program and guides them through implementation. The committee develops onboarding resources and progress-tracking processes as well as supports signatories as they implement embodied carbon reduction strategies into their organizations.

Technical Content: Develops and maintains practical guidance and resources that help practitioners implement low-carbon infrastructure solutions. The committee identifies priority knowledge gaps, publishes best-practice materials, and ensures technical resources remain organized, peer-reviewed, and easily accessible.

Engineering Education: Works to identify and address gaps in lifecycle carbon education across academia and industry. Through engagement with students, educators, and practitioners, the committee develops priorities and partnerships that advance carbon literacy in infrastructure. 

​

Communications & Design: Promotes the initiative's mission through clear, consistent, and engaging outreach. The committee manages branding, supports digital communications, and develops content that keeps stakeholders informed and connected.
